The 26th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Association of Cardiovascular Intervention and Therapeutics: CVIT2017
President: Kinzo Ueda, MD
(Rakuwakai Kyoto Cardiovascular Intervention Center, Rakuwakai Marutamachi Hospital)
We are very proud to hold the 26th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Association of Cardiovascular Intervention and Therapeutics; CVIT 2017 in Kyoto this summer. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the applicants for submitting so many abstracts.
The theme for this annual meeting is "For the patients, for the future - to seek a better interventional treatment". Japanese interventional cardiology has led the world in technical aspects so far. However, when we pursue "the better interventional treatment", the importance of the patient-oriented medicine as well as the professional-oriented medicine is clearly affirmed. Have we really performed the interventional treatment for our patients?
From the aspects of “for the patient”, in special program, we would like to deepen the discussion about better interventional treatments for "Tailoring PCI for doctor and patient satisfaction: Case-based Forum Discussion 2017” and "Palliative care for patients with cardiovascular diseases”.
As a special program from the perspective of “for the future”, we will hold the sessions, "History of the Legends in intervention field - Create the innovation -” and "New device developments, from concepts to clinical products: My experience over 30 years", hoping to connect the know-how of intervention technology and device development to the future.
In addition, the latest information on iPS cell therapy in cardiovascular medicine which is the pioneering achievements in the world entitled "New Intervention: Current status and future of myocardial regeneration" and "Various trials for realization of cardiac reproduction" will be introduced. And as a cutting edge of interventional challenge "Catheter therapeutics for chronic pain" will be focused, lectures "Current situation of intravascular therapeutics for advanced cancer and chronic pain" and "Trans-arterial embolization as a treatment for musculoskeletal chronic pain” will be provided.
Achieving “the team medical care” is also indispensable in modern medicine, so the co-medical programs also have high priority in this meeting that both doctors and co-medical staffs can further deepen communication by participating in mutual programs.
Live demonstrations with high educational effect will be revived for this meeting. Furthermore, a large number of panel discussions, symposiums, video sessions, Industry-Government-Academia Co-sponsorship Session (Japan, the United States and Europe), joint sessions with other interventional academic societies and research groups that are representative of countries, and round table sessions for deep discussion by small number of experts will be held for three days. We hope that you will enjoy a lively discussion to overcome the heat of summer in Kyoto.
Kyoto in July is the season of traditional Gion Festival. Divine services and events will be performed over a period of one month during this festival. Around the Shijo neighborhood, you will be able to hear the sound of 'konchikichin', the festive music known as Gion bayashi.
All the organizers are hoping for this academic meeting to lead the further development and success of each member in Interventional Cardiology.
